"Palos", Shanghai', franked with 1888 'clean-cut perforation' 1ca dark-green and 3ca mauve, both marginal, tied by a single SHANGHAI seal cancellation in black /

Description: 1894 May 29, newspaper wrapper from Shanghai to Peking, large part of a printed wrapper to the German Legation in Peking, red circular framed PAID of the Shanghai Local Post, their c.d.s. of despatch, passed to the Imperial Customs and franked with 1888 'clean-cut perforation' 1ca green (2), tied by SHANGHAI seal cancellations in black, Customs c.d.s. of Shanghai, Tientsin in transit and Customs Peking c.d.s. of arrival June 3 /
Note: Single domestic newspaper rate of 2 candarins. Forwarded by local post services from Shanghai to Tientsin and then by Customs mail to Peking. The wrapper was fully prepaid in Shanghai.
